Signs of Game and Internet Addiction

Indonesia - Entering the era of internet, addicted to games and the internet seems a problem that naturally happened because almost all kids and teens love the game of this new model. But what if this condition interfere with a person's life and made him unable to perform other activities?

South Korea is probably the only country that can identify and treat the condition of addiction to computer games and internet. Once asked as a country with the fastest broadband internet in the world, the South Korean government spent millions annually to identify and treat any new type of addiction.

According to a study by the government, was about 8 percent of South Korea's population is suffering from addiction to games and the internet. Age population in the 9-39 year range.

As a result, Korea became a kind of window on the future for most people. Some countries, including the United States could find a new wave of game and internet addiction is when the technology infrastructure has improved. Other countries claim to be too quick to realize that gaming addiction is a mental disorder in itself.

In the United States, game and internet addiction is not included in the official list of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. When it was revised, American Psychiatric Association states that 'Disorders Use of the Internet (Internet Use Disorder) as a disorder that still requires further study.

Even so, some groups in South Korea has moved forward to find effective treatments for addiction to these games and the internet.

One of the founders are Dr. Doug-Hyun Han of Chung-Ang University Hospital in Seoul, South Korea's capital. Han works treating the laboratory where the people who are addicted to games using techniques similar to techniques used to treat alcoholism, including counseling and virtual-reality therapy (virtual-reality therapy).

Han also shows a number of warning signs to see whether someone has the game and internet addiction or not, such as reported by CNN and quoted on Tuesday (08/07/2012):
A. Disrupted daily life patterns. If someone plays a game or a new internet throughout the night and rest during the day, it could be a warning to the person immediately obtain the help of health professionals.

2. If addiction to games or the Internet has the potential to make the perpetrators lost their jobs or quit school in order to continue online to play digital games.

3. Need satisfaction is higher. Addicts have to play the game the longer days in order to achieve the level of satisfaction from the game.

4. A number of games and internet addicts become irritable or anxious when I have to release the activity of 'main', especially if forced to do so.

5. Addiction. Internet game addict, and addicted or have conditions always need to play online games or the internet when you're away from the digital world.
