AMD Officially Hired Jim Keller

Processor AMD

Jakarta, Indonesia - AMD officially hired Jim Keller to occupy a prestigious position in the microchip company. Before it was hijacked, this guy is a processor designer for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.

In AMD, Keller will serve as the Corporate VP & Chief Architect. 55-year-old man will be tasked to design a power-efficient processor but has a remarkable performance.

Keller did have abundant experience about designing the chip. She has worked at a microchip manufacturer named P. A. Spring before acquired by Apple in 2008. Then he also had experience in similar companies like SiByte and Broadcom.

Then if traced further back, Keller is a key figure behind the birth of the AMD Athlon 64 and AMD Opteron 64 which is phenomenal in his time.

As quoted by Forbes, Wednesday (02/08/2012), AMD did not specifically mention a plan behind the return of Keller. But it is not possible if AMD is preparing a chip for mobile devices.
